Pony Espresso 801 SW Broad St., Southern Pines (910) 692-7667 Map It Some of the best coffee in the Sandhills area comes from a little drive up spot at the old Red's Exxon in Southern Pines at the corner of old US 1 and Morganton Rd. Rachel, Julie, Megan and all the girls at this little shop are so awesome. Perfect for a quick stop in the morning or anytime during the day. Stop by and say hello.

Flynne's Coffee Bar 115 NE Broad St., Southern Pines (910) 693-1999 Map It The coffee here at Flynne's is ok, but what makes the difference is location and atmosphere. On occasion this downtown Southern Pines shop will have poetry readings and open floor events. Local musicians will sometimes hang out and play as well.

Frankie's Southern Grinds 1150 Old US 1 South (910) 693-1929 Map It Frankie's has been a mainstay here in the Sandhills for many years. People love to congregate and meet on the porch. This comfortable local favorite coffee shop is a gathering spot for many, from teenagers to retirees. Pet lovers, brewers of great coffee and a familiar community spot to visit with neighbors. What else do you need?

Java Bean Plantation 410 SW Broad Street (910) 695-2326 Map It Another local gathering place along the Broad Street corridor in Southern Pines. This coffee shop stays packed as well and has a nice deck area off of the shop to relax and unwind with your friends.

Swank Coffee 232 NW Broad St (910) 309-1834 Map It Location, Location, Location and the coffee's pretty good too. Head on down to Broad St in downtown Southern Pines and you'll find Swank Coffee House. Not only do they have good coffee, smoothies and such, but they also have some killer handmade jewelry and nic nacs in the shop from local artisans. Tell JJ what you like and she'll brew it up for you while you look around.

Starbucks 110 Columbus Dr., Aberdeen (910) 692-2351 Map It Right next to the Best Buy shopping center in Southern Pines/Aberdeen area, you know this coffee house. Espresso, Frappucino, muffins, etc. Drive thru or sit in dining room and unwind. Not the same atmosphere as the local joints, but you can walk over or stop by while you're doing some shopping.

Moore County Coffee 201 McNeil St., Carthage (910) 947-6122 Map It The baking starts around 4:30 am or so everyday, so you can imagine what it tastes like. Breads, cakes, pies, pastries. They now supply some of the finest restaurants in the area. Great lunch too.

Granny's Donuts 201 Johnson St., Aberdeen (910) 944-9401 Map It If you're just looking for a great doughnut and good coffee, this is the place. Drive thru or come in and sit down. Baked fresh everyday and Very reasonable. Small shop in Aberdeen that's all coffee and pastry, no frills.

Coffee Court 105-H McReynolds St. Carthage (910) 947-1108 Map It Good coffee and great home style cooking. Coffee that tastes like coffee and not watered down flavoring. Just around the corner from the courthouse with a coffee menu that's right on time.Family owned shop and mom does the cooking. "Where the neighborhood meets"

The Coffee Scene 4309 7 Lakes Plaza, 7 Lakes (910) 673-4200 Map It Right next door to the book shop by the lakes in the community of 7 Lakes. Book clubs and residents of this waterfront community alike meet here to relax and commune with their neighbors.
