Moore County Schools provide incredible attention and support to it's students. The student to teacher ratio is much lower than what you may find in other areas, and the resources available to our kids are fantastic. The Sandhills area is growing, and there are a couple of major new school projects slated to begin in the near future to handle that growth. Convenient to Fort Bragg education has played a key role in military families deciding where they want to live. Moore County Schools cover Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Whispering Pines, Seven Lakes, Carthage, Vass, Robbins and the outlying areas. The 22 public schools that make up the Moore County School System had an enrollment of 12,334 students for the 2008-2009 school year. The system employs more than 1,909 individuals in full or part-time positions. In addition to the public school system, there are a number of private schools located throughout the county as well.
