Moore County Schools
Moore County Schools provide incredible attention and support to it's
students. The student to teacher ratio is much lower than what you may find in
other areas, and the resources available to our kids are fantastic. The Sandhills area is growing, and there are a couple of major new school projects
slated to begin in the near future to handle that growth. Convenient to Fort
Bragg education has played a key role in military families deciding where they
want to live. Moore County Schools
cover Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Whispering Pines, Seven Lakes,
Carthage, Vass, Robbins and the outlying areas. Farm Life Schools and Whispering
Pines area are in Area 1. If you're looking for
Sandhills Child Care and Pre-School check here.
The 22 public schools that make up the Moore County School System had an
enrollment of 12,491 students for the 2010-2011 school year and spent an average
of over $8000 per pupil. The system employs more than 1,700 individuals in full or part-time positions. In addition to the public school system, there are a number of private schools
located throughout the county as well. Below you will find info on our public,
and private schools, including areas and contact numbers for getting started. Moore

SOME OF OUR FAVORITE FREE EDUCATION SITES ONLINE
Khan
Academy - I stumbled across their channel on YouTube and fell in love with
how easy each lesson was to follow and how quickly you learn. They have lessons
on everything from basic arithmetic to Fractional Reserve Banking, the mortgage
crisis, science topics, business 101, investing and valuations, you name it. Now
that Bill Gates has gotten involved with them and they built their website, they
continue to get better and better.
Open
Course Ware from MIT - MIT has had this website up and going as a support
for it's students for years. It actually allows you to watch and listen to some
of the brightest minds in the country and be in these seminars on every subject.
MIT is actually working on an interactive site, MITx, that would allow anyone in the
country to no only sit in on seminars but interact completely with other
students from around the globe 24/7.
Academic
Earth - The original free education online site that broadcasts seminars
from professors and teachers from universities all over the world, such as
Harvard, Yale, MIT, etc. All absolutely free.
