Lathams Pottery

Lathams Pottery, founded in April of 1992 in a building next to their home on Alternate Hwy 220 in Pottery Country, is run by owner operators Bruce andLatham's Pottery Pitcher Janice Latham. Pottery ran in the family since the 1800's on Bruce's grandmother's side, with the Luck family. Bruce and Janice, determined to be self taught, took pottery up as a hobby without any formal class training. Once you’ve seen their pieces, you’ll understand what good teachers they were. They opened their shop full time in 1993 and really love turning pottery.

Lathams Pottery makes functional and traditional stoneware that can be used in the microwave, dishwasher and oven. The pieces that they produce range from coffee mugs, pie plates, and large vases to miniatures, dinnerware, honey jars, and candle cups of many styles.

They also produce a wide variety of lotion bottles, toothbrush holders, canister sets, and casserole dishes of all sizes. Pieces that you can use on a regular basis and in the course of everyday life.

Latham's Pottery BasketTheir specialty is a hand turned basket with handmade flowers on top and on both sides, and you can always tell authentic pieces by the special signature of Bruce's full name. These treasured baskets have become Bruce Latham’s trademark piece.

Colors range from cobalt blue, light blue with lace, medium blue that breaks brown on the edges, deep burgandy, dark green, purple, and white with burgandy, green, or blue trim. They also produce spongeware in rose, rose and green, or green and blue.

All of Lathams pottery incorporates lead free glazes and all pieces are hand turned. They take great pride in the fact that all of their work is handled personally on site from raw clay to finished product.
