First Health Moore Regional
First Health Moore Regional Hospital is a cutting edge, 385 bed not-for-profit
hospital that serves as the referral center for a 15 county region in the
Carolinas. Originally
opened on Thanksgiving Day 1929 with 33 beds and a staff of 27, Moore Regional
has now grown to a staff of 192 physicians, a Moore Regional was actually the flagship hospital for First Health of the Carolinas, a comprehensive health care network the likes of which NC has never seen. Not only do they provide care and services for patients, they also focus on staying healthy by educating patients and the community through classes, workshops, print media such as their First Health Magazine, and active events throughout the community. Top notch physicians drawn from all over the country, the finest facilities anywhere, and an incredible staff of specialists in various fields from xray, lab techs, physical therapy, nutrition, etc. make First Health Moore Regional one of the top hospitals in the country. The retention rate of it's employees and specialists is unbelievable. Very few people leave the First Health family once they're here.
In 2005, Moore Regional for the 2nd year was nominated as one of the nations Between the three hospitals, they have an active medical staff of 257, over 90 percent of which are board certified in specialties such as cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, bariatric surgery and neonatology. Surrounding Moore Regional's sprawling campus are specialty clinics like Pinehurst Medical Clinic, Pinehurst Surgical and Pinehurst Radiology, all growing in conjunction with Moore Regional. The care that's received here and the technology and resources made available to it's patients is unmatched anywhere in North Carolina, and in many cases the country.

They have incredible prescription drug plan resources and their network of doctors, being the referral hospital for 10 counties, is expansive. Their online system for following up on appointments, patients, doctors and specialists makes it easy to check the status of care at any moment when you're not there. And Moore Regional was the first hospital in NC to go entirely smoke free, even outside on the grounds. That should help us all breathe a bit easier. With first rate care, specialists, doctors, facilities, insurance products and supporting business industry, First Health Moore Regional is truly a gem in the crown of the Sandhills of NC. To say they've done a lot for the community would be an understatement. Knowing that they're here and looking after us, helps us all sleep a little better.
